Fragile Memory is a series of organic sculptures that come together in an immersive installation.
Beginning with thin sheets of bread dough and parchment paper, the sequence of works gradually introduces elements like thin thread, translucent fabric, subtly implying the fragility and uncertainty of what can trigger or change our memory.
Hung at varying heights or simply seating on the floor, these delicate works, breakable at a touch, lure the visitor in, demanding an altogether different kind of looking: a caring one.
The natural light and shadows become elements in this installation in order to emphasise the vaporous quality of our responses to new experiences through the eyes of our past ones.
As the exhibition progresses, performative elements are added, changing the outcome of the installations.
